Jerome Kindwall
October 14, 1942 - January 2, 2017Jerome Kindwall, age 74, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Albert City, Iowa, died on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
A son of Carl and Elsie (Lindstrom) Kindwall, Jerome was born on October 14, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa. Growing up, he attended school in Albert City where he graduated in 1960. Next, Jerome attended first the Commercial Extension School of Commerce and then Omaha University, both located in Omaha. On May 2, 1964, Jerome married Linda Anderson in Albert City. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Lisa.
A member of the Evangelical Free Church in Albert City, a volunteer for the Albert City Fire Department, and an Emergency Medical Technician, Jerome owned and operated the Albert City Mill (Golden Sun Feeds) for many years. During that time, he, also, sponsored the Albert City Mill men’s softball team which many enjoyed watching each summer for many years.
In his spare time, Jerome enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and camping. He, always, loved spending time near or on the water. In addition, he enjoyed watching all sports and listening to music. Everyone that knew Jerome knew he loved his coffee. He, always, had a cup in his hand. A private person, still, he treasured his family and they, obviously, knew how much he loved them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Jeff (Becky) Kindwall, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Lisa (Jeff) Grossnickle, of Laurens, Iowa; his grandchildren: Derek (Kelsey) Kindwall, of Spencer, Iowa, Riley Kindwall, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Regan (Dave) Doely, of Stuart, Iowa, and Devin Grossnickle, of Curlew, Iowa; and his twin sister, Jonele Swift, of Des Plaines, Illinois; as well as extended family members and many friends. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elsie Kindwall.
A celebration of life will take place Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow at a later date at the Fairfield Township Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is overseeing the arrangements.
