Darlene E. Eades
February 22, 1934 - December 9, 2016

Darlene Eades, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, December 9, 2016, at her home in Storm Lake.

Darlene was born on February 22, 1934, to Arthur and Mabel (Carlson) Elsner in Storm Lake, Iowa. After graduating from Storm Lake High School, she continued her education at Iowa Central Community College where she earned a nursing degree. On October 19, 1952, she married Donald Norman Eades in Storm Lake, Iowa. Subsequently, they were blessed with six children: Craig, Pamela, Patricia, Debra, Charles, and Suzanne.

Darlene spent a lot of her time volunteering in the Storm Lake community. At the Bridge of Storm Lake, she helped with food distribution and food outreach. A member of the Garden Club, the Senior Center, Awana, she volunteered at the Café Lattee at BVRMC as well. She, so thoroughly, enjoyed helping others.

In addition, Darlene loved to spend time with her family and attend family events. Moreover, she traveled with her husband and enjoyed attending auctions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Craig (Ronnie) Eades, of Denver, Colorado; Charles (Stacia) Eades, Deborah Darslian, Suzanne Eades, and Pam (Rick) Fielder, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Pat Mauch, of Fremont, Nebraska, her grandchildren: Annabelle (Juwan), Darren, Kyle (Breanna) and Michael Eades; Chris (Gwen) Fiedler; Andrea (Troy) Hogrefe; Cory (Evelyn) and Forrest (Ann) Knoll; Kendra (Gary) Minch; Matt (Bonnie) and Melissa (Garrett Halverson) Patten; Tonya (Danny) Santos; Tasha Weiss; and her great-grandchildren: Andrew, Bryce, Camden, Chris, David, Elisabeth, Evelyn, Logan, Lola, Madelyn, Madison, Micah, Nason (Winston), Silas “Bugga Boo,” Sofia, and Zach.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald N. Eades; her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Elsner; her three brothers, Darold Treloar and the twins, Ronald and Donald Elsner; her grandson, Elliott Eades; and her son-in-law: Dennis Mauch.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is overseeing the arrangements.
