Zenaida Tello-Serna
November 5, 1932 - September 19, 2016

Zenaida Tello-Serna, age 83, of Storm Lake, died on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Zenaida Serna, a daughter of Candido and Remedios (Cruz) Serna, was born on November 5, 1932, in Michoacan, Mexico. She attended grade school in Michoacan.

On Feburary 1, 1954, Zenaida married Raul Tello-Gallegos in Michoacan. Subsequently, they were blessed with ten children: Britingam Tello Serna, Orbelin Tello Serna, Marilyn Tello Serna, Raul Tello Serna, Ariel Tello Serna, Araseli Tello Serna, Faviola Tello de Orizaba, Fany Tello Serna, Orbelin Tello Serna, and Yaquelin Tello Serna.

Zenaida was an excellent cook, especially when making tortillas, tamales, and mole. She enjoyed crocheting, doing cross stitch, gardening, and raising chickens.

Those left to cherish her memory include nine children; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as extended family members and friends.

Zenaida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raul; her son, Orbelin I; four grandchildren: Yanira I, Julio Alejandro, Jose, and Gabriel; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
