March 13, 1927 - August 24, 2016

Vera C. Raymond, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at her home in Storm Lake with two of her youngest children by her side.

A daughter of Otis “Hap” and Anna (Ahlquist) Randall, Vera was born on March 13, 1927, in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In 1944, she graduated from high school in Duxbury, Massachusetts. On September 26, 1946, she married Lawrence Delano Raymond in Duxbury. Subsequently, they were blessed with seven children: Lawrence, Jr. “Laddy”, Mort, Gary, Kris, Robert, Richard, and Kathy.

Vera enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. Most of all, however, as a dedicated mother and housewife, she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Richard Raymond, of Lake City, Iowa, Kathy Hyland, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Nathaniel Morton, of Plymouth, Massachusetts; her grandchildren: Kelly (Rory) Davis; Roxanne (Luke) Haffner; Dan, Danielle, Darcy, Dawn (Robby), Larry, Matt, Patrick (Lisa), and Shawn (Stephanie) Raymond; Misty (Mike) Sanderson; Stacy (John) Vittom; and Krystal (Noel) Wiebelhaus; her daughter-in-law, Diane Raymond, of North Carolina; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and her sister, Helen Young, of Carver, Massachusetts; as well as extended family members and friends.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; four sons: Laddie, Gary, Kris, and Robert; her sister, Lil (Bob) LaCoss; and her brother, Otis Randall, Jr.

There will be no services at this time. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
