David Lyle Rachuy
September 3, 1967 - August 8, 2016

On August 8, 2016, David Lyle Rachuy was called home after a short illness.

David was born on September 3, 1967, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Shirley and Lyle Rachuy. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1985 and later from Vatterott College. He worked for Windsor Windows and Doors, and most recently, with Casey's General Stores in Ankeny, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Cathyrn; his sons, Dakota and Trevor; his daughter, Margret; his mother, Shirley; his brother, Scott (Kathy); and his sister, Karla Bond; as well as by many other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Lyle; and his sister, Sandra.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John, 1915 University Ave. in Des Moines.
