STORM LAKE PILOT - Wed, Sep 26, 1877 - Last week we published a brief announcement of the death of William Hanks. The funeral took place last Thursday and was largely attended. He was a good man and had lived to a ripe old age.

On the 5th day of Dec 1805 he was born in Ross county, Ohio. In the year 1825 he was united in marriage with Margaret Thompson and remained a citizen of Ross county until 1831, when he removed to Huron county and there resided until 1843.

During that year he removed to Crawford county where he remained until 1872 when he came to Storm Lake and remained a citizen thereof until the date of his death, which occurred Sept 19, 1877.

His wife and several children survive him and all Storm Lake feels that a good man and citizen has gone to the Great Hereafter.
