STORM LAKE BUENA VISTA VIDETTE - Fri, Sep 12, 1913 - Nellie Maude Cook, beloved wife of Clifford Stock, was born at Arlington, Iowa July 11th, 1879 and departed from this life on Thursday evening, Sept 4, at the Swallum Hospital, following a most severe operation.

She was married to Mr Clifford Stock, July 24th, 1904 at Mason City, Iowa. She repeatedly said that she was willing and ready to take her flight beyond this vale, as she was preparing for the seventh operation. Her only regret seemed to be the thought that the pastor, Rev D.A. McBurney was ill in the hospital. She said to the surgeons "Why I can't go to the hospital while Rev McBurney is sick." It seemed as if she realized the impending danger, that she could not recover from this last stroke.

Her beautiful, loving, patient life drew many friends to her who sympathize deeply with her husband, father and mother and four brothers and three sisters who are left to mourn.

Nellie had planned for her funeral for in her Bible she had placed a slip of paper giving the chapter, text and hymns she wished used at the final service in her behalf. All that loved ones, kind friends, and skilled surgeons and nurses combined could do, was done to give her relief and restore her to health.

The funeral services were held in the M.E. church, Sabbath afternoon. At the request of her sister, Mrs John McClintock, will remain in Storm Lake a few days and assist in straightening up the bereaved home.
