September 21, 1937 - Storm Lake Register - Adam Shonts, familiarly known as "Happy" passed away at his home, 600 Hudson street, Sunday noon Sept 19, following a stroke. Mr Shonts is well known in Storm Lake, having lived here about 35 years.

Funeral services are being held at the Fiscus funeral home today with Rev Robinson officiating. Miss Frances Witter and Mrs R Van Voorhis will sing. Bearers are: Perry Buckingham, David Delp, Earl Spooner, Walter Kesler, Roy Samuels and Art Skeels. Interment will be in the local cemetery.

Adam Shonts was born in Decatur, Illinois Jan 21, 1870, and at the time of his death was 67 years, 8 months, and 19 days of age. He was married to Miss Margaret Kaufman at Waterloo, July 5, 1911 and to this union three children were born: Margaret, Nellie, and Allan who are residing in California.

Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn one grandchild, 3 nieces: Mrs John Kaufman and Mrs Nettie Howard of Storm Lake, and Mrs Ed Riley of Staple, MN.
