Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Fri, May 1, 1908 - It was a severe blow to the friends of Claire Sherbondy when it was learned several weeks ago that he was stricken with spinal meningitis. The case was so serious at first that there was little hope of recovery but he had improved so much the week before last that hope was revived. He rapidly became worse however and died last Monday afternoon. On account of the nature of the disease there was no funeral but the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery Tuesday morning. The family was quarantined but the quarantine has now been removed.

Claire was born at Sac City, Dec 3, 1894. With the exception of a short time at Chicago, the great part of his life was spent at Pomeroy, Iowa where he lived until the family moved here in September 1906.

He leaves to mourn his loss his mother and sister, Hazel.
