Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Fri, Aug 4, 1911 - William Frederick Sassman was born Sept 21, 1875 in Grant township, Buena Vista co. He was a young man highly respected in the neighborhood. He has been ill for two years and has known for some time that death was near, yet through out he has been patient and Sunday July 30, death came.

The funeral services were held on the lawn of his mothers home, Mrs Shafer. His favorite songs and hymns were used that he himself had sung only a day before.

His mother, brothers, and sisters were all present to show their last earthly token of love. He was laid to rest in the Storm Lake cemetery July 31.
