October 26, 1937 - Storm Lake Register - Funeral services for Mrs. Othelia Pech who died Friday, Oct. 22, at the Swallum hospital following a long illness were held Monday afternoon at the Hughes Funeral home. Rev. M.P. Arrasmith officiated. Mrs. Morton Hughes sang two solos, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Sweet By and By." Bearers were grandsons, Raymond Biggins, Lawrence Otto, Arlo Gelsinger, Henry, Walter and Herman Manteufel. Interment was in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Pech was born in Moren Worth, Germany, Sept. 27, 1853 and died in Storm Lake, Oct. 22, 1937 at the age of 84 years, one month and 15 days.

At the age of 21 she came to the United Stales residing at Oak Lawn, Illinois, where on Feb. 21, 1875, she was married to August Pech. In 1870 they moved to Buena Vista county, settling on a farm in Hayes township. In 1913 they moved to Storm Lake where she was living at the time of her death.

Mr. Pech preceded her in death on Nov, 6, 1934.

Eleven children were born to their union, five of whom are now living: Edward Pech of Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Martha Biggins, of Storm Lake; Mrs. Gilbert Haroldson of Bruce, S.D.; Mrs. Fred Bumann of Glennville, Minn.; Mrs. Bernard Weiss of Carrington, N.D.

Mrs. Pech has been in broken health for the past 17 months, spending the last 15 months of her life in the Swallum hospital.
