Services for Rosalie Tanke, 74, of Marathon, were held July 30 at the Sliefert Chapel, Marathon, with Rev. Don Clifford officiating. Burial was in Poland Township Cemetery, Marathon. The Sliefert Funeral Home, Marathon, was in charge of the arrangements. She died July 28, 1988, in Sioux City.

Rosalie was born on June 15, 1914, to Robert B. and Helen L. (White) Scott at Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended schools in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Clarence Tanke on November 26, 1948, at West Plains, Missouri. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Marathon. They lived at Drasco, Arkansas, from 1948 to 1953 when they came to Iowa and lived in the Paullina, Cherokee, and Meriden areas before moving to Marathon in 1972.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and three brothers—Stephen, Robert, and Clifford. Survivors include Morris Olney.
