JR 'Junior' Williams
January 11, 1933 - May 23, 2016

Emmett B. 'Junior' Williams, a son of Emmett and Bertha (Kruckman) Williams, was born on January 11, 1933, in Clinton, Missouri. He was raised and received his early education in the Rembrandt and Sioux Rapids area. On January 13, 1952, he married the love of his life, Joan Waterman, in Rembrandt, Iowa. Following their wedding, they lived in Rembrandt and Storm Lake. At first, Jr. worked at Belts Dairy and for several farmers in the area. Then, he and Joan began farming on their own in 1956 in the Marathon area. In 1963, they bought a farm northeast of Webb, where he and Joan continued to farm until recently.

For twenty-five years, Jr. and Joan enjoyed going south to Arizona for the winter. Moreover, he loved riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle during the warm weather, putting lots of miles on it with his many friends. After moving to Spencer in 1995, he enjoyed going to 5:00 A.M. coffee at Sister's Cafe' and afternoon coffee at HyVee. In addition, he liked driving down to the farm to check on the crops and to mow the lawn. Jr., truly, loved farming the land, watching the crops grow in the summer and harvesting them in the fall, but his true love was his wife and family with whom he enjoyed sharing memories and especially visits.

Jr. passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, May 23, 2016, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; his mother- and father-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Spencer; his son, Mike (Cindy) Williams, of Spencer; and his daughter, Debbie (Don) Sundall, of Ruthven; six grandchildren: Alecia, Bryan, Carissa, Heather, Heidi, and Holly; ten great grandchildren; one sister; and many friends; along with extended family members and special longtime friends, Doc and Bev Richardson.
