Storm Lake Register - Apr 9, 1940 - Funeral services for Mrs Charles Nelson, long time resident of Storm Lake, were held Monday afternoon at the Fiscus funeral home. Mrs Nelson passed away Friday afternoon at her home, 110 Hudson street, following a illness of several weeks. She passed away on the same day and month and almost the same hour as did her husband, 31 years ago. Burial was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Mrs Velna Gustava Johnson was born in Kalmar Lane, Sweden April 29, 1858. She came to this country about 51 years ago and except for a short time in Newell has lived since then in Storm Lake.

To this marriage of Mr and Mrs Nelson were given nine children. Three of the children died in infancy and a daughter and son after they had grown to maturity.

The following children survive: Mrs Elmer Cobb, Storm Lake; Albert Nelson, Storm Lake; Mrs Roy Lewis, Sioux City; and Mrs Lee Thorpe of Storm Lake.

At the time of her death Mrs Nelson was 82 years, 11 months and 15 days old.
