Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Oct 28, 1898 - Ida Ola Mathes, only child of Mr and Mrs James Mathes, of Grant township, died Tuesday, Oct 18 1898, aged 13 years, 3 months, and 26 days. Funeral services conducted by Rev J.F Jenkins were held on the 19th and were attended by a large number of sympathizing friends. The remains were interred in the Storm Lake cemetery.
