Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Feb 10, 1938 - Funeral services are being held this afternoon for Mrs George C Mack, highly respected woman of this city at the Methodist church. Schools were closed during the afternoon out of respect to Mr Mack, member of the school board. Interment is in the local cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth McDermott, daughter of John and Amanda McDermott, was born Oct 27, 1877 and she grew to womanhood and came to Iowa and settled in the Crozier neighborhood, southwest of Albert City where on Nov 4, 1903 she was married to George C Mack. With the exception of 4 years, Mr and Mrs Mack had lived all of their married life in Storm Lake.

Mrs Mack had been in failing health for about a year. Recently she was taken to the Swallum hospital where she passed away Feb 7.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her passing, three children: Meda Marie, Robert and Buddy, all of Storm Lake. One brother, John McDermott of Lakeside and two sisters of Pierre, SD: Mrs Flora Graham and Miss Mae McDermott. Mrs Mack who has taken an active part in the church and community affairs has made many friendships that will be a living monument to her memory.
