Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - May 1, 1958 - John Ellsworth Lenhart, the last one of 11 children of Philip and Tille Malone Lenhart, was born on June 19, 1870 in Whiteside county, IL. He passed away April 23, 1958 in his 88th year.

Mr Lenhart came to Buena Vista county in 1899 to farm northeast of Storm Lake. 18 years later they moved to a farm near Rembrandt where they lived until retirement in 1938. At that time they moved into Storm Lake which has been their home since.

He was united in marriage to Della Hiner at Mt Carroll, IL on July 29, 1899. To this union four children were born: Fay, Myrtle (who preceded her father in death), Pearl and Ralph.

Mr and Mrs Lenhart celebrated their golden wedding with an open house on July 29, 1949.

He is survived by his wife, three children: Fay of Storm Lake; Pearl (Mrs Howard Hill) of Adel; Ralph of Oakland, CA; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday April 28 from the Methodist church. Burial was in the Storm Lake cemetery.
