Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - August 14, 1908 - Died at his home 4 miles from town, Aug 8, 1908 at 2:35 a.m., Matthias Lange.

He was born in Germany on Nov 8, 1832 and in 1883 at the age of 50 he moved to this country. Here his daughter was married to Henry Kay and the two families have been close neighbors ever since.

For the past few years his health has been failing and it was known for some time that his death must come soon. Cancer of the face was the cause of his decease and it is a case which has refused to yield to best treatment. The old man passed away quietly in the early morning and only a few of his relatives were present.
