Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Oct 12, 1939 - Back and head injuries suffered by August Kruse, Rembrandt carpenter, resulted fatally and he passed away Oct 3.

August Kruse was born May 23, 1878 at Hanover, Germany. In 1895 he came to America settling at Chicago where in 1911 he was married to Miss Emma Muller.

To this union 5 daughters and one son were born, one daughter having preceded her father in death.

The living are: Mrs Mildred Choyce and Mrs Evelyn Lowe of Chicago, Mrs Dorothy Sievers of Grant township; and Norma and Adolph at home. Besides his widow and children he is survived by three brothers and one sister: Fred, Will and Henry and Mrs Henry Berkerman of Grant township.

For a number of years he has worked at the carpenter trade in the vicinity of Truesdale where the family resided before coming to Rembrandt two years ago.
