Storm Lake Register - Jan 3, 1961 - Lora Isabelle Thavs was born Aug 19, 1883 in Avoca, Wisc. She came to Iowa with her parents when she was a small girl. The family lived in the Laurens and Rembrandt communities. After her marriage to Landen Klein, March 4, 1903, they settled in Storm Lake.

Four children were born to Mr and Mrs Klein. Three preceded their mother in death, Viola in 1932, Vera in 1912 and Edward in 1919.

The surviving daughter, Beulah, (Mrs Sidney Smithson) lives in the Panama Canal Zone. Mrs J.C. Hannon, Alta, a cousin also survives.

Mr Klein died in 1949. Mrs Klein was a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian church. She resided at 711 Oneida until a year ago when she moved to the Morgan Nursing home.

She passed away Monday Jan 2, at the age of 77. Funeral services were held Thursday Jan 5 from the Hughes Nelson funeral home. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.
