Storm Lake Register - April 28, 1936 - Funeral services for John Jordon, well known Storm Lake resident, who died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Henry Delbridge, Thursday forenoon, were held from the Hughes Funeral home Saturday afternoon.

John Jordan was born May 1st, 1852 at Reading, PA and at his death was 83 years, 11 months and 22 days of age. His mother died when he was 6 years of age and his father 7 years later.

He came to Illinois at the age of 17 and worked as a farm hand until 1883, when he was married to Sarah A West of Champaign, IL.

To this union 6 children were born. They are: Mrs J.F. Taylor of Lincoln-Lee; Mrs David Delbridge of Plainview, S.D.; Robert H Jordan of Storm Lake; and Mrs Henry Delbridge also of Storm Lake, with whom he made his home for several years.

His wife and two sons preceded him in death, his wife in the year 1882 and one son, Freddie A in infancy and the other, John W in the year 1911.
