Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - February 18, 1897 - James G Johnston died at the home of his son, Dr Johnston Sunday evening of old age. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday the services being in charge of Rev Pratt of the Methodist church.

James G Johnson was born in Williamsport, PA July 27, 1811. When 26 years of age he was married to Phinella Junod, and immediately afterward moved to the then wilderness of western Ohio. After a residence of 21 years in that state he moved to Delaware county, Iowa.

About 15 years ago he came to Storm Lake where he has since resided. His wife died six years ago.

Six children were born to them of whom only two are living. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with his son, Dr Johnston of this place.
