Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - May 15, 1914 - Etta Mae Houchins was born in Storm Lake Oct 11, 1888. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs W.A. Houchins.
Her life was spent in Storm Lake. On Sept 6, 1903 she was married to George Rae Hall. The young couple lived here until 1910 when they went to Fort Dodge where they made their home since.
Two children were born to them: Gladys Marie, age 9 and Robert Kenneth, age 7. A few weeks ago Mrs Hall and the children came to Storm Lake to visit.
On May 2nd, Mrs Hall was taken ill. She was taken to the hospital and an operation performed but she did not rally as was expected. On Thursday May 7th she left this world and on Sunday at 2 o'clock funeral services were held in the Methodist church. The body was laid to rest in the Storm Lake cemetery.
She leaves in addition to her husband and children, her parents and four brothers as follows: Thomas A Spooner, Wis; C.S. of Storm Lake; W.S. of Bemidji, MN, and K.E. Ryder, S.D., also one sister, Mrs Alice Ammerman of Sioux City. The little children will remain at present with their grandparents here.
Mrs Hall was a young woman who had many friends. Her disposition was such as made her a good wife and mother.
