Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - March 31, 1932 - Sherman Glasscock, resident of Storm lake for a year and a half, died at the Buena Vista County farm Tuesday evening at 8:30 at the age of 71 years.

Mr Glasscock had been in ill health for nearly 2 years and for some time his condition had been serious. Early last week he was taken by Steward Homer Ellis to the University hospital at Iowa City for examination, but returned Thursday when it was found that nothing could be done for him.

Sherman Glasscock was born near Cozaddale, Warren county, Ohio Oct 8, 1860. In the fall of 1863, he moved with his parents to farm near Gaza, Gallatin county, IL, where he grew to manhood. In 1896 the family moved to Mattoon, IL.

In Dec 1897 he was united in marriage to Dora Whitson at Mattoon and to this union 7 children were born. One daughter died in infancy. The others are: Mrs V.L. Poliquin of Mattoon, IL; Earl who is in the navy; Paul and Hubert of Millersburg; Kermit of Jacksonville, IL; and George of Savannah, IL

Besides his wife and 6 children, he leaves 7 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs C.N Wycoff of Storm Lake and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday. Burial was in the local cemetery.
