June 10, 1910 - Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Caroline Simon was born July 4, 1836, in Maryland. She was married to John Fultz January 22, 1852. To this union came five boys and seven girls, nine of whom are living. Of this number, Mr. Bass Fultz, Mrs Lawrence Foell, and Mrs. Ira Cannon have rural homes in Hayes township. The others are Mrs. Z. Diehl, of Storm Lake; Mrs. John Flack, of Webb City, Mo.; Mrs. Will Chapin, of Waukon Junction, Iowa; John Fultz, of Carterville, Mo.; Geo. Fultz, of Lohrimore, Iowa; Chas. Fultz, of La Porte City, Iowa.

At the age of fourteen Mrs. Fultz was confirmed and joined the German Lutheran church. A year after her marriage, moving from Maryland to Rossville, Iowa, they joined the Presbyterian church at that place. They were active members of their church, faithful in their attendance and in the desire to bring up their family in the church and its activities. They were frugal and thrifty and endeavored to train their large family in habits of industry.

Mr and Mrs. Fultz left their home at Rossville in November l906 making their home with their daughter, Mrs. Foell, until Mr. Fultz's death in the spring of 1908. Since then Mrs Fultz visited among her children. During one of these visits with her son Bass Fultz last September, Grandma Fultz suffered a fall caused by a paralytic stroke.

Mrs. Fultz took great pleasure in hearing the Scriptures read and gospel hymns sang to her and the comfort these ministrations brought to cheer Grandma will be among the pleasant memories. Three weeks ago Mrs. Fultz met with another accident, complications arising causing intense suffering until Saturday afternoon, when release came.

Besides nine children Grandma Fultz leaves thirty five grandchildren, thirteen great grand children, and a host of relatives, friends and neighbors to cherish her memory as the years go by.

The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the home of Bass Fultz in Hayes township, conducted by Rev. Mackintosh, D.D. of the Presbyterian church.

Relatives present at the funeral from abroad are: Charles Fultz, a son of Mrs. Fultz, and wife and son, Carlton of La Porte City, Iowa.; Geo. Fultz, of Lohrimore, Iowa another son; Mrs. D.C. Bowman, and Herman George both of Knierim, Iowa, niece and nephew of Mrs Fultz and Mrs. John Flack, of Webb City, a daughter.
