May 23, 1913 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Storm Lake is in sorrow over the sudden death of Mrs. R. Burnham, which occurred at the family home in this city Monday morning.

It was all so unexpected that the shock was a terrible one to the family and to her host of friends in this city and vicinity. She was about her work as usual and as she has always been well and strong, she was moving about with her accustomed vigor. Mrs. Morcombe, who lives next door, had seen her just a few minutes before. Harold Hanke, Mrs. Burnham's grandson, upon returning from an errand, found her sitting in a chair dead. Mr. Burnham, who has not been strong for months, was just arising and her body was still warm when family and friends hurried to her. Death was caused by a blood clot on the brain.

Laura A. Judson was born at Rockberry, N.Y. July 8, 1838, and was married to Rollin Burnham at Compton, N.Y., March 10, 1866, just after the close of the war. They lived at DeKalb, N.Y., until 1870, when they moved to Alden, Iowa, where they lived until 1872, when they came on west, settling on a farm ten miles south of Storm Lake, in Eden township, Sac county, where they lived until twenty-six years ago, when they moved to Storm Lake and took up their abode on Seneca street where she died on Monday.

Three children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Burnham, all of whom are living. They will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30. This newspaper joins in the general sorrow over her death.
