Calvin Eugene Angier, son of Calvin and Clarissa Angier, was born in Essex county, New York state April 26, 1849 and passed away July 17 after a short illness, at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 21 days.

At the age of two months, with his parents, he started for Iowa by the way of the Erie Canal to Buffalo, thence by boat to Milwaukee, Wis, then overland in a covered wagon to Iowa, arriving at Girard, Clayton county Sept. 23, 1849.

In December 1868 he was united in marriage to Ida Brunson. To this union seven children were born. Four are now living: Ira and George of Storm Lake, Guy of Schaller and Mrs. A.C. Karges of Storm Lake with whom he has made his home since his wife passed away to October, 1897.

One elder sister, Mrs. J.B. Ames of Hollister, Cal., 98 years old, survives.

Mr. Angier came overland to Storm Lake in 1874 and settled on the prairie four miles east of Schaller which he improved. He moved to Storm Lake with his family in the spring of 1887 where his son, George, now lives. In 1903 he moved back to Sac county and improved the farm where his son Guy now lives.

For the last 27 years he has lived with his daughter on a farm two miles out of Storm Lake. Mr. Angier has always lived on a farm and was an honest, industrious, patient, and hard working man. All that a good citizen should be. Those who knew him held him in high regard.

He is survived by the four children, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
