Mildred M. Nordine
January 7, 1909 - July 23, 1981Mildred Marie Nordine, a daughter of Arthur and Emma Anderson, was born on January 7, 1909, at Wapello. After the family moved to Albert City in 1911, she was confirmed and baptized in the Evangelical Free Church at Albert City.
On February 14, 1928, she married Floyd Nordine at her home at Albert City. They, subsequently, had five children, Burnett, Everett, Myrtis, Millicent and Leland. They farmed in the Albert City area until Mr. Nordine's death in 1951. Afterwards, she remained on the farm until 1953 when she moved to town. They were members of the Evangelical Free Church at Albert City.
Mrs. Nordine died on July 23, 1981, at the age of 72 following open heart surgery at University Hospital at Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, and her parents.
Her survivors include her five children, Burnett, Everett, and Mrs. Gene (Myrtis) Allen, all of Albert City, Mrs. Donald (Millicent) Fredrickson, of Cedar Rapids, and Leland, of Omaha, Nebraska.; three daughters-in-law, Betty, Sandra, and Pam; two sons-in-law, Gene and Donald; thirteen grandchildren, two brothers, Eldon Anderson, of Pocahontas, and Elmer Anderson, of Albert City; a sister, Mrs. Willard (Bernice) Brown, of Newport Beach, California, and their spouses; as well as other relatives.
Services were held July 24, 1981, at the Evangelical Free Church at Albert City. The Rev. Dale Anderson officiated. Mrs. Arland Bloom was the organist. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Dean Sundblad. Bearers were Jeffrey Fredrickson, Nathan Nordine, Terry Nordine, Gary Allen, Tom Fredrickson, Allan Nordine, and Bruce and Mike Allen. Interment followed in the Fairfield Cemetery at Albert City under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home at Albert City.
