Kathleen A. McKenna passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Bernard, her husband, passed away three years ago.

Kathleen is survived by six children: Michael, and his wife, Amy; David; Colleen, and her partner Leslie; Mark, and his wife Rochelle; Paul, his wife, Lilian; and Gregory, and his wife, Marian; and eight grandchildren: Jennifer, and her husband Damien; Kelly; Tori;, and her husband, Dustin; Julie; Shani; Liane; David; and Mai Linh.

Born in Storm Lake, Iowa, Kathleen attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. Then, she went on to graduate from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa.

In 1950, she married Bernard McKenna. In 1954, they moved to San Jose, California, where they raised their six children. Kathleen was a devout Catholic and a long-time volunteer with the Altar Society. She loved to sing and spend time with her family, was a loyal 49er fan, and had a fond appreciation of the outdoors, good company, and a fine glass of red wine.

Services are to be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church at 4600 Hyland Avenue in San Jose, California. A Rosary vigil will take place in the small chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, and the Funeral Mass will be offered in the main church at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016.
