February 15, 1905 - March 24, 1992

Marie Hannah Anderson, 87, of Albert City, died on March 24, 1992.

Marie was born on February 15, 1905, to Claus and Jennie Johnson of rural Alta. She graduated from Fairview High School and attended the State College of Iowa, Cedar Falls, and Buena Vista College, Storm Lake. In 1932, she married Chester Anderson. During her career, she taught in one-room schools as well as in modern classrooms.

She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women Association, Albert City. She was also part of the Young at Heart Club and the Albert City Community Club.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister — Mildred; and her brother — Kenneth, Marie is survived by two daughters — Joan Mackaman, of Ankeny, and Carolyn Ludwig, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Palm Desert, California; a son — Greg Anderson, of Fullerton, California; five sisters — Francis Hanson, of Storm Lake, Lucille Cox, of Oxnard, California, Evelyn Mickelson, of Slayton, Minnesota, and Alice Endreson and Genevieve Smith, both of Alta; seven grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.

Services for Marie will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Albert City, Rev. Rick Senner officiating. Burial will be the Fairfield Township Cemetery, Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home, Albert City, is in charge of the arrangements.
