Harry W. Anderson
July 29, 1892 - June 15, 1985Harry Waldemar Anderson, 92, of Albert City, died on June 15, 1985, at the Pleasant View Home, Albert City.
Mr. Anderson was born on July 29, 1892, the fifth child in a family of nine children, six of whom have preceded him in death. The son of Charles and Teckla (Ponsor) Anderson, he grew up on a farm four miles west of Albert City.
Baptized into the Christian faith on August 21, 1892, and confirmed on April 12, 1908, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Albert City, Mr. Anderson received his education in the public schools and then, for a short term, at the Business College of Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois.
During World War I, he served with the U.S. Army, 88th Division, in France. Following his discharge, he returned to the family farm which he operated until he retired and moved into Albert City. In September of 1977, Harry and his sister, Esther, moved into the Pleasant View Home where he had resided since that time.
Survivors include two sisters, Myrtle Christenson, of Albert City, ''and Laura Finberg, of Luverne, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Cecil Anderson, of the Pleasant View Home in Albert City; one nephew; and five nieces.
Services for Mr. Anderson were held on June 17, 1985, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Albert City, with the Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home.
