July 18, 1908 - October 25, 2011

Harry Elliott, 103, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Calvin Community in Des Moines.

Harry was born on a farm in Pocahontas County to William and Carrie Elliott on July 18, 1908. He taught chemistry in Jefferson, Iowa, worked as a Guidance Director in LeMars, and taught math and served as Vice Principal in Des Moines.

Harry is survived by his son, William; his daughter, Jeannette; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his sister, Helen Hansen; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Hamiltons on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Per his wishes, his remains will be cremated and his ashes interred at Storm Lake Cemetery.
