June 6, 1946 - Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - Mrs Mary Elizabeth Byrne passed away at her home 2004 E Cantrell Street, Decatur, IL on May 30 at 3:50 p.m. She was the eldest daughter of George and Elizabeth Wilson, born in Greenup, IL on Dec 19, 1867.

She came with her parents to Decatur when a small child and had lived her entire life there with the exception of 12 years spent in and near Storm Lake.

She married Abraham L Byrne Nov 12, 1895 at Owensville, Indiana, who passed away Dec 7, 1945 in Decatur. To this union six children were born: Mrs Marie Reynolds of Ferndale, MI; E.E. Byrne of El Paso, Texas; and three children by a former marriage: Ora Gard of Des Moines; Grace Thoughber of Spencer; and Ethel Beasley of New London, MN.

Four children preceded her in death Mary, Alvin, Gertrude, and Dorothy. She was a member of the Christian church of Decatur, Illinois.

She leaves 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: E.N. Wilson of Decatur; Melvin Wilson of Lake Lillian, Minn; Jasper Wilson of Sulphur Springs; Charley Wilson of Hammand, Ind; Albert Wilson of Michigan; Ida Hensen of Gary, Ind; Myrtle Larkin of Peoria, Illinois; Clara Arney of Indiana; and a number of nieces and nephews, numerous friends in Illinois and Iowa.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev Gilbert Davis Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Kroll funeral home. Mrs George Bryant and Mrs Ralph Diehl presented appropriate musical numbers. Interment was in Lake View cemetery.
