June 17, 1962 - August 29, 2015Jan Severson, age 53, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Jan Lee Siefken, a daughter of Dwight and Lola (Fatheree) Siefken, was born on June 17, 1962, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Baptized at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, she attended school in Marathon and Alta, graduating from Alta High School in 1980. She, then, continued her education at Spencer School of Business where she graduated in 1982.
On June 29, 1985, Jan married Rod Severson at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Jay and Alex.
Jan loved taking care of her kitties, and especially her family. She will also be remembered for drinking very, very strong coffee and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rod Severson, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Jay Severson, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Alex (Hannah) Severson, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her brothers, Ken (Connie) Siefken, of Nemaha, Iowa, and Scott Siefken, of Arlington, Virginia; and her sisters, Lynne (Jason) Raveling, of Pocahontas, Iowa, and Becky (Marlin) Stahl, of Scottsdale, Arizona; as well as extended family members and many friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Lola Siefken; and her sisters, Rayleen Raveling and Marcy Siefken.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 1, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
