Kathy Jo Struthers, age 65, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on July 10, 2015, in Storm Lake.

Kathy Jo Cox, a daughter of Gerald and Vera (Franksain) Cox, was born on May 13, 1950, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church, she attended school at and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1969.

She married Steve Struthers on June 9, 1969, and subsequently, they were blessed with two children: Melisa and Mike.

In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed bowling, playing softball, darts, and “Bonco,” and doing needle point. She, also, valued her family and treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Melisa (Rod) Mandernach, of Newell, Iowa, and Mike (Staci) Struthers, of Alta, Iowa; her grandchildren: Chelsea, Mackenzie, Aaron and Bailey Mandernach, all of Newell, Iowa, and Shelby Struthers, of Alta, Iowa; her brothers: Gerome (Sue) Cox, of Spring Hill, Florida, and Dan (Jacquie) Cox, of Phelan, California; and her sister, Cindy (Duayne) Wieczoreck, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Vera Cox; and a brother, Jon Cox.

A Time of Remembrance will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
