Barbara J. Henrich, age 62, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Barbara Jean Bach, a daughter of Marvin C. and Donna M. (Magnussen) Bach, was born on March 11, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She attended school in Storm Lake, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1971. She, then, furthered her education at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.

On September 15, 1973, Barbara married Thomas Michael Henrich in Storm Lake. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Christopher Michael and Heather Marie.

Barbara began her first job at the Buena Vista County Treasurer’s Office. She went on to work at the ASCS Office and Consumer’s Supply in Storm Lake. For the past seventeen years before she retired, she worked as a Deputy Auditor at the Buena Vista County Auditor’s Office. She took great pride in her responsibilities serving the community, especially during election time.

Barbara enjoyed reading and taking care of her grand puppies, Tucker and Griswold. Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend to many.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Thomas Michael Henrich, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children, Chris (Meghann) Henrich, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Heather (Phil) Smith, of St. Paul, Minnesota; her mother, Donna M. Bach, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her sister, Linda (John) Racine, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; her father- and mother-in-law, Edwin and Marilyn Henrich, of Newell, Iowa; her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Michael Henrich, of Newell, Iowa, Sally Henrich, of Omaha, Nebraska, Cindy (Alan) Gibson, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, James (Stacy) Henrich, of State Center, Iowa, and Sara Eben, of Greeley, Colorado; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Bach; her sister, Kathleen A. Bach; and her sister-in-law, Susan Eakins.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
