Carol A. Rice, age 92, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at her home in Storm Lake.

Carol Arlene Booth, a daughter of Leonard and Hilda (Fisher) Booth, was born on May 1, 1922, in Lytton, Iowa. She attended school at Hayes Consolidated School, graduating in 1940. On April 4, 1943, she married James E. Rice in Clearwater, Florida. Subsequently, they were blessed with five children: Larry, Susan, Barbara, Mary Lynn, and Alan.

A faithful member of the United Methodist Church, she served as the Circle leader for both the Storm Lake and Newell Methodist churches. A member of the Storm Lake Rebekah Lodge, she, also, led the Newell Pepperettes 4-H Club.

Carol will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Susan Rice (Jimmy Sayarath), of Storm Lake, Iowa, Barbara (Peter) Wilson, of Lismore, New South Wales, Australia, and Mary Lynn, of Boring, Oregon; her grandchildren: Bronwyn (Chris) Sabat, Meredith Wilson, and Rhys Wilson, all of Australia, and Nadine (Steven) Meyer, of Archer, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Steven and Sophia Meyer; her step grandchildren: Astar Napsalay (friend, Kimberly) and Bandaluck (Yann) Sayarath; her step great grandchildren: Jarryn, Jaynehn, and Radawanh Sayarath; her step great great grandchild, Jazzlynn; and a close family friend, Reva Arends; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her sons, Larry and Alan; her brother, Dale Booth; her sisters, Maxine Wisham and Dorothy Heath.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
