Dustin Lee Heacock, a son of Ron Pixler and Stephanie Mathers, was born on February 11, 1988, in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, in his youth to live with his dad. He attended Laurens Marathon High School and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 2008.

Next, he enlisted in the Army completing both basic training and advanced individual training as a military police officer at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. In 2009, he completed airborne training, was level 2 combative qualified, and in 2012, he completed a warrior leader course. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal and various other awards during his six years of active service. After completing combat training, he was stationed in Washington D.C. at Fort Myer as a member of the 289th Military Police Company, “THE OLD GUARD.” He, also, participated in the 57th Presidential Inauguration.

Dustin dedicated his life to the service of his country and spent his off duty time with his family and friends. He was known as a "Ladies Man" and lived life to the fullest.

Dustin passed away on August 19, 2014, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 26. He was preceded in death by one uncle, Wayne Pixler, and will be laid to rest next to him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Stephanie Mathers, of Omaha, Nebraska; his father, Ron Pixler, of Laurens, Iowa; his stepfather, Doug Heacock, of Blue Springs, Missouri; three brothers: Ryan Pixler, of Spencer, Iowa, Daniel Heacock, of Independence, Missouri, and Zach Heacock, of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister, Samantha Heacock, of Omaha, Nebraska; his stepsister, Megan Heacock, of Blue Springs, Missouri; his grandparents, Peter and Suzanne Mathers, of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandfather Charles Pixler, of Omaha, Nebraska; and his grandparents, Janet and Luverne Runneberg, of Everly, Iowa; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

SERVICES: Funeral services will take place at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, Fr. William Schreiber officiating.

CASKET BEARERS: Army Military Honor Guard, Camp Dodge, Des Moines, Iowa.

VISITATION: Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, Iowa.
