Long Baccam
August 13, 1954 - November 13, 2014Long Baccam, age 60, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his home in Storm Lake.
Long Khi Baccam was born on August 13, 1954, in Xiangkhouang, Laos, a son of Phuc Baccam and Vang Bac Thi.
Long had four children whom he loved deeply: Nith, Nom, Nancy, and Robert.
Long loved to travel and visit family all over the country and also in France, Thailand, and Laos. He enjoyed driving across the countryside, fishing, and cooking. Happiest when family and friends visited, he thrived on entertaining them. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Nith (Steve) Young, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Nom (Richard) Darling, of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Nancy Baccam (Reginald Alexander), of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Robert Baccam, of Seminole, Texas; his grandchildren: Leighton, Addie, and Danica Young, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Keegan, Kianna, Quinton, and Quantae Alexander, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his brothers: Liane (Vieng) Baccam, of San Diego, California, Kouang (Bounchan) Baccam, of Mulhouse, France, Khong Baccam, of Seminole, Texas, Rang (Hom) Baccam, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Dong and Nam Baccam, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Thanh (Sue) Baccam, of New Hope, Minnesota, and Cuong Baccam, of Shakopee, Minnesota; and his sister, Huong Baccam, of Minnestrista, Minnesota; as well as extended family members and friends.
Long was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Tiane Hoang; and his brothers, Ruck and Chan Baccam.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
