Ed valued his faith, becoming first an active member of the Center Grove Evangelical Free Church while they lived on the farm and later of the Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. Ed’s special interests included painting, woodworking, and fishing. He and Marvis also enjoyed traveling, making trips to California and one to the Holy Land. Moreover, he always cherished the times his family could get together.
Those who will always love and cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-four years, Marvis, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: David and Barbara Hansen, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Jolene Hansen, of Rexford, Kansas, Jane and Dan Bjorklund, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Michael and Jean Hansen, of Norwalk, Iowa; his grandchildren: Terrin (Dan) Bern, Jace (Christian) Hansen, Will Hansen, Sarah Saffold, Mark (Jill) Bjorklund, Kelli (Ben) Housworth, Tracy (Chad) Jones, and Sarah Cross; his great grandchildren: Emma and Olivia Hansen, Tilman and Reagan Bern, Nylah and Melia Saffold, Benjamin Bjorklund, and Elise Jones; and his sister, Cleora Parris, of Story City, Iowa; as well as other extended family members and many friends.
