Betty Lou Henderson
March 2, 1938 - June 30, 2014Betty Lou Henderson, age 76, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Monday, June 30, 2014, at the North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
A daughter of Glen and Nylene (Richards) Boughey, Betty Lou was born on March 2, 1938, on a farm in Dickinson County, Iowa.
Having attended school in Laurens, Betty graduated from Laurens High School in 1956. On March 26, 1958, Betty married Leo Henderson in Laurens. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children: Glen and Tom. A member of the United Methodist Church in Laurens, Betty enjoyed raising her children and keeping house for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Leo Henderson, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children, Glen, of Martel, Nebraska, and Tom, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchild, Danielle Henderson, of Greenville, South Carolina; her brothers, Don (Florence) Boughey, of Pocahontas, Iowa, Wayne Boughey, of Pocahontas, Iowa, Norman Boughey, of Rembrandt, Iowa, and Alan (Marge) Boughey, of Sheldon, Iowa; and her brother-in-law, Dale M. Henderson, of Des Moines, Iowa; as well as extended family members and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Nylene Boughey.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Laurens Cemetery in Laurens, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
