Martin Miguel Angel Rivera
September 13, 1991 - June 15, 2014Martin Miguel Angel Rivera, age 22, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Martin Miguel Angel Rivera was born on September 13, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Alexander Ventura and Martha Rivera. He attended school through junior high in California. He, then, moved to Storm Lake where he continued his education and earned his GED.
Martin worked at Arby’s for a period of time and then went to welding school. He currently worked at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove.
In his spare time, Martin worked as a tattoo artist. Very artistic, he enjoyed drawing his entire life. He also loved riding motorcycles and listening to music. Most of all, however, Martin treasured his family and friends. He loved spending time with those he cared about. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angel Maribel Rivera, and her mother, Margaret Wymore, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his mother and step-father, Martha and Daniel Gill, of Storm Lake, Iowa; and his father, Alexander Ventura, of Florida; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members, and friends.
Martin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tomasita Rivera and Miguel Angel Rivera, Sr.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. There will also be a visitation on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until the beginning of the service. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
