Robert Driver, age 84, of Linn Grove, Iowa, died on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Robert Marrion Driver, a son of Jakie and Helen (Fisher) Driver, was born in Litchfield, Minnesota, on February 16, 1930. Bob’s father died before he was born. When he was three years old, his mother married Charles Peterson, who became Bob’s father. Bob lived his youth in the Litchfield area and received his education at a country school.

Bob faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He entered the United States Navy on October 6, 1950, and was honorably discharged on August 9, 1954.

On July 1, 1951, Bob married Aurlette Johnson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They were blessed with six children: Phil, Mike, Royce, Lowell, Susie, and Chuck. Following their marriage, Bob and Aurlette resided in Pensacola, Florida, while he continued to serve in the Navy. After he completed his military service, they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and lived there for eight years. Then, the family moved to Truesdale, Iowa, for one year before moving to the Linn Grove area where they had made their home since. A farmer and a feed salesman for Iowa Pellets and Cargill in Rembrandt, he knew nearly every farmer in Buena Vista County.

Bob was a member of the Riverside Evangelical Free Church, the Gideons, the American Legion and the VFW. Truly devoted, he had a love for farming and especially for his horses, ponies, and antique tractors. He spent his most cherished times, however, with his grandchildren.

Bob will always be lovingly remembered and honored by his family which includes, his wife, Aurlette, of Linn Grove, Iowa; his children: Phil (Cherri) Driver, of Linn Grove, Iowa, Royce Driver, also of Linn Grove, Iowa, Susie (Mike) Popken, of Hinton, Iowa, and Chuck (Jone) Driver, of Stewart, Minnesota; his daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Driver) Thomas, of Fishers, Indiana; his beloved grandchildren: Jesse Driver, Leah (Jim) Kain, Rachel (fiancé, Greg Haack) Driver, Kristine and Katie Driver, Eric (Christy) Driver, Erica (Jaime) DeLira, Jennifer, Jake (fiancée, Jade), Joe Popken, Bryan, Justin and Jillian Driver; his four great grandchildren: Landon Driver and Natalie, Brianna, and Zachary DeLira; and his brothers: Charles (Martha) Peterson, of Litchfield, Minnesota, Dale (Mabel) Peterson, of Sunburg, Minnesota, Douglas (Brenda) Peterson, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Harvey (Darla) Peterson, of Litchfield, Minnesota; as well as by other extended family members and a host of friends.
