Marjorie J. Pender, age 91, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.

Marjorie Brisbois was born on August 11, 1922, in Alta, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Schroll) Brisbois. Baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church, she attended grade school and high school in Alta, graduating in 1939.

On January 7, 1940, Marjorie married Arthur Ray Pender in Elk Point, South Dakota. They were blessed with three children: Robert Eugene, Lloyd James, and Thomas Edward.

A member of the Methodist Church in Schaller and the Women’s Group, Marjorie also served on the board. In addition, she spent many years as a school cook in Schaller before retiring in 1984.

Marjorie loved participating in community activities, especially the Schaller Popcorn Days when all of her family would come home. She also enjoyed school music concerts and plays. Among her favorite activities, she cherished the visits from her family, traveling, gardening, baking, and the going to the casino.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Robert “Bob” (Karen) Pender, of Alta, Iowa, Lloyd (Lynn) Pender, of Saginaw, Michigan, and Thomas Pender, of Davenport, Iowa; her grandchildren: Bryan Pender, of Lexington Park, Maryland, Traci (Bruce) Sites, of Bailey, Colorado; David Pender, of Zilwaukee, Michigan, Toni (Lewis) Castor, of Davenport, Iowa, Kevin (Carol) Pender, of Saginaw, Michigan, Jennifer (Tim) Staub, of Riverdale, Iowa, Sallie (John) Fitzpatrick, of Peterson, Iowa, Shane Pender, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Craig (Lorie) Pender, of West Bloomfield, Michigan; several great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Delores Brisbois, of Richland Center, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces; nephews; extended family; and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Pender, in November of 2004; her brothers: Henry, Jim, and Donald; and her sisters: Bernice and Betty.
