Pamela Isaacson
January 6, 1943 - November 11, 2013

Pamela Isaacson, age 70, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Sioux Rapids on Monday, November 11, 2013.

Pamela (Pam) Kay Wisecarver was born on January 6, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond Jacob and Freda Mae (Hills) Wisecarver. She graduated with the Marshalltown High School class of 1961. After earning her Nursing degree, she worked at the hospital in Eldora, the Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown, and lastly at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute in Cherokee where she retired as an RN supervisor in 2006.

On September 21, 1968, Pam married Gary Isaacson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in both Eldora and Liscomb before moving and settling into Sioux Rapids in 1987. Pam and Gary were blessed with a daughter, Kristine Kay, their only child.

Pam enjoyed shopping, shopping, and more shopping. She and Gary would frequently take off when she had a weekend off and enjoy the day in Sioux City or wherever their hearts desired. She really liked going to Branson, Missouri, to stay at their time-share there. She also enjoyed making many different sweet treats. Everyone looked forward to her famous fudge during the holiday seasons. Most of all, Pam enjoyed spending her free time with her growing family of grandsons. They all had a very special place in her heart.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kristine Payne; her son-in-law, Tim; five grandsons: Cooper, Jaxsen, Aiden, Phynix, and Bentlee, all of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Fistler, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Kathy Wisecarver, of State Center, Iowa; and her niece, Diane (Steven) Simpson, of State Center, Iowa; as well as many cousins and a host of friends.

In death, she has been reunited with her parents; the love of her life, her husband, Gary; her brother, Jerry; and her maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as with many aunts and uncles.

A time of remembrance will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
