October 10, 1929 - October 05, 2013Evelyn Garcia, age 83, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on October 5, 2013, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Evelyn Christina Clausen was born on October 10, 1929, in Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter of Ernest and Emma Clausen. She was raised and educated in South Dakota. Before meeting her future husband at a dance, she worked at a telephone office.
Evelyn married John Garcia, and they were, subsequently, blessed with two children, William and Robert. As a family, they moved to California.
Evelyn liked crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed watching the news and staying up on current events. In addition, she loved watching western movies. She greatly valued her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Billy (Rebecca) Garcia, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Robert (Elaine) Garcia, of Skiatook, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Jonathon, Kristine Marie, Justin, Annie, and Alexis Garcia; three great grandchildren: Sophia, Chevy, and Jonathon Allen Garcia, Jr.; and one brother and one sister; as well as extended family members and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Garcia.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., October 12, 2013, at the Faith United Assembly of God Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
