Marvin Sierck
December 8, 1917 - January 26, 2013,Marvin Sierck, 95, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on January 26, 2013, in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on December 8, 1917, in Waterloo to Otto W. and Anna (Berghaus) Sierck. On September 10, 1940, he married Helen Dreier.
Marvin graduated from Alta High School and was employed at Alta Creamery prior to entering the Army Air Force during World War II. Upon his discharge, he and Helen moved to Spencer, and he became part-owner/manager of the former Jersey Dairy. When Land O' Lakes purchased the dairy, Marvin and Helen moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he managed the Land O' lakes Dairy until he retired. He and Helen, then, made their home in Mountain Hone, Arkansas.
After Helen's passing in 2004, Marvin remained in Mountain Hone until January 4, 2013, when he moved to an assisted living facility in Overland Park, Kansas.
He is survived by a son, Dennie (Faye) Sierck, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Jan Sierck, of Lenexa, Kansas; three sisters: Lois (Eugene) Johnson, of Spencer, Patty (Jerry) True, of Medford, Oregon, and Beverly Zahrt, of Radcliffe; a brother, Burton (Arlys) Sierck, of Spencer; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Dolores Sierck, of Spencer, and Sparky Sierck, of Seattle, Washington; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; a son, Ronald; two grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Roger Zahrt; two brothers, and a sister.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William J. Henning officiating. Entombment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Hope. Arrangements are by the Roller Funeral Home.
