Betty Lou Mason, age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Sunset Knoll Care Center in Aurelia.
Betty Lou Robinson was born on May 4, 1932, in Lapeer, Michigan, the daughter of Ray and Hazel Robinson. She attended school in Caro, Michigan. As a child, Betty was baptized and later confirmed at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Cadillac, Michigan.
On March 18, 1950, Betty married Wayne Mason in Owosso, Michigan. This union was blessed with eleven children: Carla, Denny, Rick, Steve, Valerie, Keith, Gordon, Kevin, Rodney, Shelley, and Jerry.
Over the years, Betty took pride in making her home a warm and secure place for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, photography, and computer games.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-three years, Wayne Mason, of Aurelia, Iowa; her children: Carla (Leo) Sparks, of Manton, Michigan, Rick (Margaret) Mason, of Linn Grove, Iowa, Steve Mason of Storm Lake, Valerie (Jerry) Lodge, of Medford, Oregon, Keith (Lynn) Mason, of Waterford, Michigan, Gordon (Hilda) Mason, of Osterholz-Sharmbeck, Germany, Kevin (Treasa) Mason, of Houston, Texas, Rodney (Clenna Arneecher) Mason, of Spencer, Iowa, Shelly (Bryan) Ferguson, of Houston, Texas, and Jerry (Michelle) Mason, of Storm Lake; as well as many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Denny Mason; and three brothers: Rexford, Dean, and Cloris Robinson.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., February 09, 2013, at Faith Episcopal Church in Spencer, Iowa.
