Arden Jorgensen, age 80, of Newell, Iowa, died October 23, 2012, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Arden Ivan Jorgensen was born on September 10, 1932, in Newell, Iowa, the son of Ingvard and Molly (Carstensen) Jorgensen. He grew up in the Newell area and graduated from Newell High School in 1950. Following high school, he served with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1954, he attended the University of Minnesota and St. Paul Bible College. At the end of his college education, he returned to Newell where he farmed until his retirement.

On March 8, 1969, he married Ann Ramaker Mason in Harlan, Iowa.

Arden accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, followed Him in baptism, and became an active member of the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. He served as a deacon and moderator for many years and also sang in the church choir.

A member of the Newell American Legion, he served as a Coon Township Trustee and also as a member of the Farm Bureau Board.

An Iowa Hawkeye fan, Arden also enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, and playing pool. In addition, he treasured his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of forty-three years, Ann Jorgensen, of Newell, Iowa; his stepchildren: Gail (Tim) Moore, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Bill Mason (friend, Vicki Ulven), of Storm Lake, Iowa; his step grandchildren: Adam (Anna) Mason, of Des Moines, Iowa, Jeff (Heidi) Mason, of Chicago, Illinois, Lindsey (Neil) Davis, of St. Paul, Minnesota, Heather (Jason) Halfen, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Brooke Moore (Matt Brown), of Cambridge, Massachusetts; his step great grandchildren: Caroline, Andrew, Emily, and Catherine Halfen; his sisters: Dorothy Kahl, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Ruth Francis, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his brother-in-law, Steven (Carolyn) Ramaker, of Rochester, Minnesota; his sisters-in-law, Grace Jorgensen, of Newell, Iowa, and Lee Neff, of Fresno, California; and a special family friend, Dianna Mason; as well as many nieces; nephews; extended family; and friends.

Arden was preceded in death by his parents, Ingvard and Molly Jorgensen; his father- and mother-in-law, Samuel and Helen Ramaker; his brothers: Harold Jorgensen, and in infancy, Lowell Jorgensen; his sisters: Verna Halverson and Grace Schesvold; his brothers-in-law: Eugene Kahl, Truman Halverson, and Robert Neff.

Memorials may be designated to the Okoboji Lakes Bible and Missionary Conference or the Gospel Mission. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., October 27, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., October 26, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: October 27, 2012, at the Newell Cemetery in Newell, Iowa.
