August 16, 1917 - November 4, 2012Evelyn (Hout) Bellcour, age 95, of Fort Collins, Colorado, and formerly of Storm Lake, died on November 4, 2012, in Fort Collins.
Evelyn Bellcour was born August 16, 1917, in Alta to Henry and Martha Andersen. She attended school in Alta and graduated from Alta High School where she enjoyed softball and basketball.
On October 19, 1935, she married Melvin C. Hout. They, then, moved to a farm near Albert City and had three children. For twenty-seven years, Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper in Storm Lake. Her husband, Melvin, died in a car accident in 1968. On December 30, 1974, Evelyn married Zane Bellcour. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in both Storm Lake and Fort Collins, Colorado, she seved as a volunteer there for over ten years.
Evelyn loved to bowl and did so for thirty years. In 1972, she won the singles and doubles at the Women's National Bowling Tournament in Kansas City. She also loved flowers (especially roses); gardening, and feeding the birds.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin; her youngest daughter, Carol Keitges; her parents; six sisters; and two brothers.
Those left to mourn her passing include her husband, Zane Bellcour; one daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Doyle Long, of Roseville, California; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Vicki Hout, of Fort Collins, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Helen Andersen, of Spencer; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 1:15 p.m. at the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation with the family present will take place from 11:00-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
